‘Spenni Boys’ Charity Motorcycle Endurance Ride in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support and The Stroke Association

July was a busy month with local Charity fundraisers, so we wanted to bring our Autumn charity donation forward to help support the great achievements of a group who took it upon themselves to ride a Motorcycle Endurance Ride for two great causes close to their hearts.

Four lifelong friends from Spennithorne, finished an endurance ride from Spennithorne around the coastal route of Scotland on motorbikes bought for less than £500.

A challenging journey of over 1,600 miles completed in 5 days, raising money for the #strokeassociation and #macmillancancersupport.

It was arranged in memory of their friend Phil Jackson who sadly died in 2018 of bowel cancer.

The family suffered a further blow when Phil’s brother Glynn suffered a life-changing stroke in his early 40s.

For this reason, the group chose to raise money for both of these charities, with friends and family joining them along the way acting as a support crew.

Several of the bikes had mechanical failures during the trip, but everyone completed the ride raising more than £15,000.
